Chocolates & Cherries for Breakfast – because why not? A healthy breakfast need not be boring! You can make it as creative and as delicious as you want. Cherry Garcia smoothie or Cherries, Chocolates & Oats smoothie is a delicious way to combine your favorite ingredients and turn it into a healthy smoothie. All ingredients in this powerhouse of a smoothie are Superfoods! Check out the amazing benefits of these superfoods at the end of this post.
Cherry Garcia Ice cream is a popular Ice cream flavor by Ben & Jerry’s, which happens to be my personal favorite. Not a big ice-cream person, but if I were to choose one, I’ll choose Cherry Garcia. Do check out the egg-free Cherry Garcia Ice Cream recipe that I have blogged about in the past.
Who doesn’t like chocolate for breakfast? Through my blogging journey at Eat More Art, I try to make creative, fun recipes by giving interesting twists to healthy food items in order to make it more delicious.
This recipe is vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, refined sugar-free, healthy and full of superfoods.
Cherry Garcia Smoothie
Ingredients
- 2 cups Almond milk can use regular milk for a non-vegan version
- 1 cup Cherries
- ½ cup Oats
- 1 tablespoon Honey can use regular sugar instead
- 2 tablespoons Almonds
- 2 tablespoons Dark chocolate
Instructions
- Combine oats and milk and put it in the refrigerator for half an hour. Can also leave it overnight.
- Chop half the cherries, de-seed it. Leave the remaining aside for topping the smoothie bowl.
- Puree the soaked oats, milk and ½ of the deseeded cherries using a blender.
- Chop the remaining deseeded cherries.
- Combine all of the above, add honey/maple syrup/sugar. Mix.
- Chop or grate the dark chocolate.
- Transfer the smoothie into 2 bowls or mason jars, top it with dark chocolate and the remaining cherries.Enjoy!
