Tell you a secret – blueberry and almonds make the best combination. So if you are new to healthy eating, or feel it’s not your cup of tea (or bowl), try this yummy combination out first!
Continuing on with my healthy breakfast/smoothie posts, here is another favorite one!
Oats – 1-2 tablespoons
Blueberries – a handful
Blackberries – 2-4
Almonds – 10-12
Almond milk – 1 1/2 cup [can use any milk]
Honey/Maple syrup/Brown sugar [optional] – 1-2 teaspoons or per taste
Golden flax seed powder – 1/2 teaspoon
Hempseed powder – 1/2 teaspoon
- Soak oats in almond milk for at least 1/2 an hour. Can be done overnight as well.
- Blend the berries, sweetener, flax seed powder and hempseeds powder in the above soaked oats milk.
- Add almonds (keeping 1-2 aside for garnish), blend it one more time. I like little bits of almonds when consuming the smoothie, hence I add that a bit later.
- Garnish it with fresh blueberries and lavender.
