During this special season, here is a special recipe to keep you warm! Ciccolata Calda – the Italian Hot Chocolate! Very simple to make and once you try this, you will not go back to the regular hot chocolate.
Bitter sweet chocolate – 1 bar ~ 100gms or higher. I used Ghiradelli 60% cacao
Milk – 2 cups
Sugar – 2 teaspoons
Corn starch – 2 teapoons
- Heat 1 cup of milk in a non-stick pan on a medium heat. Add chocolate bar. Keep stirring until the chocolate melts.
- Add the remaining milk, and continue the stir the whole time.
- Dissolve corn starch in some milk, and add it. Stir the mixture until it is very thick – about 10-15 minutes. The consistency would be 3-4 times thicker than what you started with.
